Students in the Automotive Technician, Building Trades Specialist and Culinary Arts Specialist programs at New Community Career & Technical Institute (NCCTI) participated in an entrepreneur workshop on Feb. 21. The guest speaker was Al Alvarez, Director of Programs at Greater Newark Enterprises Corporation (GNEC). He spoke about what it takes to start a business, including the importance of credit, how to fund a new venture and where to get assistance in developing a business plan. The students learned a variety of financial terms and were able to ask questions.
